Come out for a lighthearted fundraiser for the Meals-on-Wheels organization on July 20 at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina.
The San Diego Meals-on-Wheels chapter will play host to a “Superhero Soiree,” its 4th annual “appetizer challenge,” pitting 12 local chefs against one another in a friendly cooking competition. Guests will enjoy a host of expertly prepared appetizers from the competing chefs, and can also participate in silent and live auctions, entertainment, and dancing. In addition to the appetizer samples, a full dinner will also be served.
Guests are encouraged to don their favorite superhero attire.
Local celebrity chefs will include Isabel Cruz (Barrio Star), Colin Murray (Brooklyn Girl Eatery), Andrew Sasloe (The Cosmopolitan Hotel and Restaurant), Mike Lina (Crush Solana Beach), Bernard Guillas (The Marine Room), Rich Huarte (New York on Rye), Michael Jacobs (Proud Mary’s Southern Bar and Grill), Charles Andres (Roy Yamaguchi’s Pacific Rim Cuisine), Jeff Rossman (Terra American Bistro), Julie Weiss (The Wild Thyme Company), and a special surprise chef.
Meals-on-Wheels, Greater San Diego, Inc. supports its mission to “support the independence and well-being of seniors” by providing hot meals to homebound seniors throughout the local community.
Tickets for this San Diego event are available online.
