The 20th anniversary GOLD Diggers of San Diego “Hats off to San Diego” luncheon and Betty Mabee Hat Parade will be held on May 16 at Del Mar Country Club.
Eleven non-profit organizations including ElderHelp and Young Audiences of San Diego will participate in this fun and delicious fundraising lunch, contributing hat designs that express their charitable missions. The 2013 theme is “Light Up the World through Giving.” In addition to a champagne reception and a gourmet lunch, attendees can participate in auction and raffle events. Guests are encouraged to wear creative hats.
The GOLD (Gifts of Loving Donors) Diggers works throughout San Diego County as a “volunteer membership organization which concerns itself with members of our community with special needs including but not limited to children and their caregivers, the elderly, crime victims, and others,” according to the group’s mission statement.
