On February 11 and 12, the San Diego Ballet presents the ballet Romance, choreographed and directed by Javier Velasco. Take the opportunity to treat yourself and your sweetheart to a romantic evening of beautiful performance art. Perhaps begin the outing with a romantic lunch or dinner for two at Rancho Santa Fe's Mille Fleurs, then proceed to the ballet for the performance.
Romance pulls from the San Diego Ballet's Shakespearean repertoire, as well as other pop and classical pieces. On February 11, the second half of the evening features the popular A Midsummer Night's Dream, while on February 12, true romantics will be delighted with a full-length version of Romeo and Juliet. Other featured music includes songs by Nat King Cole and Patsy Cline.
The ballet will be staged at the Lyceum Theater in Horton Plaza, San Diego. Performances begin at 8 pm on February 11 and 2:30 pm on February 12. Tickets cost $35 for standard seating or $45 for premium. For more information and to buy tickets, visit the San Diego Ballet's website or call (619) 294-7311.
