Del Mar’s Holiday of Lights allows you to drive through more than four hundred twinkling light displays beginning on Thanksgiving. The displays will be lit nightly through January 2nd. Hours of the display are from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays through Thursdays and from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The displays will even be available on December 24th, 25th, 31st, and January 1st, but will be closed on November 29th and December 6th and 13th.
The Del Mar Fairgrounds is located off Interstate 5 at Via de la Valle. The car entrance is at the Main Lot on Jimmy Durante Boulevard and costs $14.00 per car, for up to 5 people, although discount tickets are available at Albertsons. Larger vehicles will cost $19.00 per vehicle, for six or more people and $49.00 per bus.
On November 26th, December 3rd, 10th, and 17th, you can choose to view the holiday lights by the tractor-pulled Holiday Hayride, instead of driving. The Hayride is available every half hour beginning from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The cost is $10.00 per person for the Holiday Hayride and children ages 3 and younger ride free. The hayride fee includes the Holiday of Lights tour, hot chocolate or cider, and a holiday cookie.
Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster or at the Holiday of Lights entrance. Due to safety concerns, motorcycles and other two-wheeled vehicles are not permitted to tour Holiday of Lights. Call 858.792.4252 for more information.
