What to Expect at Del Mar During World Cup Week
A tradition of excellence, elegance, and excitement comes to Southern California during the Del Mar International Horse Show. During the World Cup week, top equestrian athletes from around the world will compete for World Ranking and World Cup points in three distinct equestrian disciplines—Western, Dressage, and Hunter/Jumper. As one of the top horse shows in the world, the event attracts nearly 1,500 horses and Olympic, World Cup, and World Champion athletes are expected to participate. A few special events include the PCHA children’s and adult jumper championships, Onondarka Medal Finals, USHJA National Hunter Derby, and the GGT-Footing Grand Prix Series Finale.
Don’t let the elite field of internationally recognized horses and riders keep you from joining. The event caters to amateurs and juniors who love the sport as well as top-level equestrians by providing top facilities, attention, and management for horses, athletes, coaches, trainers, groomers, and spectators. Thanks to these features, opportunities are available for every member of the equestrian community.
Catch the show from October 17–21, to watch the best horses and riders face-off during World Cup Week, including one of only seven World Cup Qualifiers on the West Coast. Tickets are general admission, or reserve seats in the VIP Showbox and receive complimentary dinner during the Grand Prix.
