San Diego's 103rd Anniversary Charity Ball, "Spectacular San Diego," is coming up on January 21. Every year, San Diego's Charity Ball is a central part of the city's philanthropic and social life—some have called it the "Grande Dame" of charity balls. San Diego's oldest charitable event is a chance to benefit a worthy cause while enjoying a luxurious, black-tie evening of dinner and dancing. Since its inception in 1909, proceeds from the ball have benefited the Rady Children's Hospital.
The ball is held at the beautiful Hotel del Coronado. The pre-ball reception begins at 5:30pm on the hotel's garden patio. At 6:30, guests move to the Crown and Coronet Rooms for dinner. At 8:30, dancing begins in the Grand Ballroom and lasts until midnight, with music by the Swing Cats Orchestra. The evening's entertainment features Jersey Boys star Rick Faugno.
Tickets to the ball cost $250. For more information about the ball, contact the Rady Children's Hospital Foundation at (858) 966-5988 or Phyllis Snyder, General Information Chair at firstname.lastname@example.org, (619) 475-3255
