September Showstoppers: Monaco Yacht Show and Art Basel Buenos Aires

As warm summer days fade into crisp autumn nights, art lovers and yacht aficionados alike turn their attention to some of the most anticipated events of the year. From the world’s foremost yacht show to a premier art event, September has our attention.

Art Basel Buenos Aires

Since its debut in 1970, Art Basel has brought art collectors and connoisseurs together to admire artwork from emerging and established artists. On September 6-12, Art Basel Cities Week in Buenos Aires showcased artwork set against the backdrop of the South American capital. The attendees were invited to experience the city through the eyes of the artists. Guided by Cecilia Alemani, the “Hopscotch (Rayuela)” exhibition included newly commissioned and existing works by 18 Argentine and international artists. Artwork around the city occupied grand plazas, parks, abandoned buildings, neglected architectural structures, and other buildings that do not typically showcase modern art. Maurizio Cattelan created a temporary pop-up cemetery for attendees entitled Eternity, while Luciana Lamothe showcased a unique piece that is suspended between present and future.

Monaco Yacht Show

On September 26–29, yacht enthusiasts from around the world will gather in Monaco for the world’s premier yachting event. Located in the stunning Port Hercules, the show brings together yacht owners, builders, and prospective owners or charterers for a series of action-packed festivities. More than 125 superyachts built by the world’s leading shipyards will be on display, and around 40 new launches will be revealed in a worldwide debut. During the day, there will be plenty of time to peruse the exhibitor booths, admire the hottest new launches, and figure out which yacht to charter for an upcoming vacation. At night, an array of parties will allow attendees to mix and mingle with movers and shakers in the yachting industry. This year, Tankoa's 236-foot Solo superyacht and Turquoise Yachts’ 253-foot Go are sure to make a splash as they officially launch at the show.
