The Rancho Santa Fe Women’s Fund will be celebrating its 6th year of giving back to the community in November. Comprised of 140 members, the group’s mission is to “educate, inspire, and increase the number of women committed to philanthropy in order to strengthen the community and impact lives through informed, focused collective giving.” Since 2004, the Rancho Santa Fe Women’s Fund has granted $1,325,055.
The Rancho Santa Fe Women’s Fund has focused their funds for 2011 on economic development and health & social services and hopes to fund programs in the North San Diego County and San Diego area with urgent, critical needs, bold new ventures, and new approaches to significant issues. Members determine which grants are funded, based on a process of inquiry that begins in September of each year.
Awardees for 2010 were ARTS- A Reason To Survive, Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County, Inc., Camp Pendleton Armed Services YMCA, Escondido Creek Conservancy, High Tech High -North County, Military Outreach Ministry (MOM), New Children's Museum, and the USD/Hahn School of Nursing.
