Take a trip to Russia without leaving southern California in August. The La Jolla Music Society will play host to the SummerFest White Nights Gala August 11 in support of their community music education programming.
This unique event will be held at the Rancho Santa Fe residence of Jean and Gary Shekhter and will feature music and food related to the “festival of the midnight sun” held annually in St. Petersburg, Russia. Guests will delight in this intimate concert setting.
Guests who wish to help support this fundraising effort at the sponsorship level will receive special seating at the concert and dinner, as well as acknowledgement in the SummerFest Gala Invitation and Program Book. Several sponsorship levels are available.
The gala takes place during the SummerFest concert season, an annual summer-long event featuring a variety of community concerts around the La Jolla and greater San Diego area. Proceeds from many of these performances go to support the La Jolla Music Society’s mission to “enhance the vitality and deepen the cultural life of San Diego by presenting and producing a dynamic range of performing arts for our increasingly diverse community.” The Society was able to reach around 15,000 people in 2011, including over 1,300 students who attended musical performances for free.
