This Sunday, February 26, Mainly Mozart offers another opportunity to enjoy an evening of beautiful classical music. Pianist John Lill will treat attendees to pieces by three classical masters: Beethoven, Brahms, and Schumann. And you won't have to travel far, as the concert will take place right in town at the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe.
The evening begins with a wine reception at 5:30, followed by the concert at 6:30 pm. Lill opens with Beethoven's Sonata in C Minor Pathétique, Op. 13. He will then move on to Brahms' two Rhapsodies, Op. 79 and finally Schumann's Carnaval, Op. 9. Lill is considered the leading British pianist of his generation. He has won many prestigious awards and prizes and has performed in more than fifty countries. Most recently, he was awarded the Order of the British Empire in the 2005 New Year's Honours List for his musical contributions.
