Lindsey Tuer of “Lifestyles San Diego” sat down with Ann Brizolis, of K. Ann Brizolis & Associates, who dominates the real estate market in Rancho Santa Fe, or “The Ranch,” as the locals call it. Brizolis, like many residents, found The Ranch by happy accident through research and luck. She’s raised a son there and has seen the area flourish and progress over the years.
The Ranch is an accidental gem originally developed in the 20s and has had the misconception of being a retirement community. As Brizolis points out, this couldn’t be further from the truth: The Ranch is actually a vibrant, diverse, and thriving community with a variety of properties and exceptional amenities.
Having been a resident of The Ranch for 30 years, Brizolis is not only one of the area’s greatest advocates, but one of its proudest locals. Her unique knowledge of the area makes Brizolis the perfect person to help us examine The Ranch’s nuanced and unparalleled features.
The Ranch boasts 37 distinct enclaves including seven luxurious golf communities and courses. (One of these, the Covenant Golf Course, was popularized by names like Bing Crosby and Desi Arnaz.)
The Bridges is one of The Ranch’s most prestigious golf communities featuring a Robert Trent Jones golf course with the Escondido Creek running through it. The Bridges, a gated community, also features a vineyard, a beautiful clubhouse, canyons, an orange grove, and due to the incredible weather, its very own wine is produced. The clubhouse was designed to look like an Italian family villa and is a very intimate space, perfect for entertaining. It can accommodate small and large parties, meetings, brunches, and private events.
While The Ranch’s amenities and culture add to the area’s rare and distinguished personality, its real treasure is the real estate. The Villas are the smallest properties in The Bridges, while the Cortile Collection includes more mid-sized options and pools.
