The Rancho Santa Fe Garden Club will be hosting its first Arts and Crafts class for 2011. Last year, the Arts and Crafts series was a huge success and well-loved by Rancho Santa Fe locals, as well as gardening enthusiasts. The Garden Club continues to welcome Rancho Santa Fe residents to attend these events.
Their next class promises a little culture, as “Journeys from the Past” will be explored with Jacque Tahuka Nunez, 2009 Educator of the Year. Ms. Nunez will be teaching the art of basket weaving and each person will make a small round, reed basket. Aside from being a master crafter, Ms. Nunez is an award-winning storyteller, in the tradition of her Native American culture, and will display a variety of her handmade baskets.
Plan to attend this interesting and informative event on Friday, January 28th from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 am, at The Rancho Santa Fe Garden Club. The cost for this class, including all materials is $35 for members and $45 for guests. Visit their website here for more information.
